The Federation of Master Builders has recently released the results of their State of the Trade Survey. Their State of Trade Survey for Q4 of 2019 proved an interesting read with some compelling figures.
With a buoyant year forecast for us, it’s never been more vital, to employ skilled staff, but this comes with its issues too, as the survey has reported the following:
54% of SMEs struggle to hire bricklayers
53% of SMEs struggle to hire carpenters
37% of construction SMEs are forecasting higher workloads, which is down from 38% in Q1 2019
Damon Auld, General Manager, Abbey & Lyndon Builders, Redditch commented “With the construction industry looking very positive this year, we are looking to increase our headcount in 2020, but is proving hard to find as there’s definitely a skills shortage”
We’re currently recruiting for a number of Skilled Trades at our yard in Redditch.
It’s a full-time role either on a self-employed or employed basis. If you have what it takes to join a growing construction company in the midlands, then get in touch email damon@abbeylyndon.co.uk today!
