Abbey & Lyndon are pleased to confirm they have once again been awarded SMAS Worksafe accreditation against the SSIP (Safety Systems in Procurement) Criteria for the 4th Year running to achieve Contractor Status.
The SSIP outlines a strict list of Core Criteria (which is set out by the Health & Safety Executive) that needs to be adhered to. The core criteria include items such as outlining and providing evidence on our Health & Safety policy; Training & Information; Workforce Involvement; Welfare provision and our Risk Assessment Policy.
We were assessed against a number of our trades such as Brickwork Services, Carpentry & Joinery Services, Plastering Services, Blockwork Services as well as General Maintenance Services for our commercial and residential building projects.
By being awarded a valid SSIP certificate, this means we have demonstrated our excellent capability by meeting the strict SSIP ‘core criteria’.
The Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is an umbrella organisation that pulls together multiple occupational health & safety schemes with the aim of reducing the burden and associated cost of Health & Safety across the construction industry. Part of this, the SMAS Health & Safety certificate demonstrates key Health & Safety competencies and most importantly it’s recognised by other SSIP members who offer mutual recognition.
Obtaining SSIP accreditation demonstrates, when tendering and to our customers, we are competent in health & safety practices and procedures, and that we are a business that is safe to work with.
