
Meet Rob, he’s a Roofer at Abbey & Lyndon. He’s worked for us for over 12 years now and gets involved in a whole plethora of jobs on and off site.
We thought we’d get to know Rob a bit more and find out what a Day in the Life of a Roofer is like.
When did you start working at Abbey & Lyndon?
12 years ago now – I’m nearly part of the furniture as they say!
Before working at Abbey & Lyndon, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Believe it or not, I used to work on the Circus when I left school (many, many moons ago) I think it was called Fossett Brothers Circus.
What is your role at Abbey & Lyndon?
I’m a Roofer at trade but I also lend my hand to helping all trades when they need me.
Detail what an average day in the life at Abbey & Lyndon is like?
I’ve worked in numerous building jobs over the years and every day is different at Abbey & Lyndon – which keeps the job interesting. I can be carrying out a roofing repair one day then slabbing the next day: Jack of all trades they say!
What key skills have you developed so far in your role?
Customer relationships and understanding the needs of other work colleagues.
How would you describe yourself as an individual?
Happy go lucky type of chap, the team love my jokes! I think……
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Mixing with the team and keeping everyone smiling.
