Abbey & Lyndon Building Contractors in Redditch, is very excited to have been featured in the local press, celebrating our achievement as finalists in the forthcoming National Building Awards.
Local newspaper, The Redditch Standard, ran a story telling how we’ve been nominated for the ‘Contractor of the Year’ at the National Building Awards 2019, to be held in May at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
We were put forward for this prestigious award following work we carried out at Gheluvelt Park in Worcester. This new-build project involved providing much needed facilities for the splash-pad at the park, including a kiosk and new accessible toilets for the public, and a meeting room with separate kitchen for the Sons of Rest Committee.
As a result of the nomination, Council Leader, Matt Dormer visited our Redditch yard, commenting: “It’s fantastic for a Redditch company to be recognised for doing such an incredible job. I’ve seen it for myself and they really have created something special. It’s fully deserved and I hope they win.”
David Auld, who runs Abbey & Lyndon with son, Damon, says: “This nomination, alongside celebrating 50 years in the business, is something we are really proud to achieve. We are a trusted, family-run business with a strong heritage and a strong presence within the local building industry. A nomination like this really puts us on the map.”
His comments are echoed by Damian Cummins, awards director at NBA, who said: “They have done incredibly well to reach the finals in this hotly contested category and we wish them the very best for the night.”
