Redditch based Building Contractors Abbey & Lyndon Builders are celebrating 50 years in business this March. This is a real milestone for the family-based business, having been established in 1969 by Redditch based Adrian and an original Rubery-based partner, who then left the business in the 1970’s
Adrian was then joined by his son-in-law David in 1982 then in 1996 David became a partner within the business.
David’s son Damon then joined the company in 2001, keeping the family tradition alive working alongside his father and grandfather. Adrian then decided to hang up his tools in 2014, selling his share in the company to David.
Having been in business for 5 decades this March, the company continues to grow with 20 staff at its base at Shawbank House, Lakeside.
A question we get asked a lot is “Where does the name Abbey & Lyndon originate from?” Abbey is in relation to Abbeydale (location in Redditch) where Adrian was living when the company formed and Lyndon was the name of the road in Rubery that the original founding member lived in, thus becoming Abbey & Lyndon Builders.
Abbey & Lyndon are a trusted family run business covering all aspects within the building trade from Flooring to Roofing; Disabled Adaptions; Commercial & Residential Building Services; Dilapidation Works to New Builds covering Redditch, Solihull, Bromsgrove & Birmingham to name but a few.
Our client base ranges from Care & Repair (CRW) to Halfords Head Office (Redditch) Local Authority work; schools; churches and commercial projects.
